Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now claimed the prestigious cup on fourteen different occasions.

The Parisian giants needed a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to get past Marseille in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a comfortable triumph in the showdown featuring the French league champions and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, Marseille fired twice in the closing moments to take a surprise advantage. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial leveler in the final moments to send the match into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored successfully for PSG to seal a 4-1 shootout victory.

The record champions PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the last 13 years.
