It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her newest gem.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing completely," stated Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
